It was never Jeroen’s intention to become a music producer. Infact growing-up, he was always the lead-singer and songwriter in the bands he formed with his friends and his two brothers. The stage was his playground and songs were his favorite weapon.

With songs came demo tapes, which in the early 90s meant so much more than just a laptop and a pair of headphones. You needed expensive gear and studio time. You needed to referee band rehearsals and stay in control of your ideas. You needed to really battle, but in retrospect it was also the perfect training ground to become a producer.

Piece-by-piece Jeroen collected enough gear to build his first home-studio: a prehistoric DAW (cubase on Atari ST 1040) and an 8-track recorder. Every day was a day to create new music - writing, recording and experimenting 365 days a year. It was his only obsession. He produced demo’s for the bands he played in, which all helped in securing gigs, band contests and even that elusive first record deal.

It was a deal that gave Jeroen his very first opportunity to work with a ‘big-name’ producer, the legendary Paul Despiegelaere (The Machines). It was something of a game-changer, and Jeroen quickly learnt the magic of being in that “outsider” position - the art of trying to get the best out of the song and the artist.

He quickly enrolled on a course in Ghent to really study his new fascination, and soon enough he landed his first proper job as a Music Producer. Jeroen was tasked with creating on-demand music in a wide-range of genres - Pop, Dance, Classical, relaxation music for babies, horror-music for Halloween, hyper music for Kids and even Gospel… It was a non-stop music factory, and although not always inspiring, it was a great opportunity to dig his teeth into the ‘technics’ of how music works in so many different styles.

Catalogue-music became Jeroen’s day-job, and by night his new addiction was playing keyboards in the raucous synth-pop outfit Vive La Fête. Sure enough, Jeroen also began producing for the band, and it all felt quite natural. In 2003 he co-wrote (and produced) the band’s first big hit “Touche Pas” with his girlfriend Saskia. It was his birthday, both literally and metaphorically - and from then on things really started to move. Labels, artists and bands all started to book Jeroen to produce their new releases.

Hit after hit, Jeroen’s magic touch helped people make the records they always wanted to make. From alternative, pop, dance and even singer-songwriter albums - if the music and artist inspired him, he would dive right in and take the challenge. Twenty-two years output later, and Jeroen has produced a hugely eclectic amount of singles and multi-platinum albums, always giving the artists and labels his 110%.

He surely has a few more epic decades of music to offer, but for now you can check out his ever-rolling discography right here.
